Custom Embroidered Hoodies
Why Embroidered Hoodies Work Better Than Printed for Business Branding
When businesses come to us for branded clothing, hoodies are consistently one of the most requested items. They're practical, they get worn regularly, and a well-made embroidered hoodie with your logo looks professional in almost any setting. But the method of decoration matters more than most buyers realise before they place their first order.
Embroidery vs. print: the practical difference
Screen printing and DTF transfers work well on flat, smooth surfaces. On a hoodie — particularly around the chest, where fabric bunches slightly when worn — embroidery holds its shape and appearance far better over time. A printed logo on a hoodie that gets washed weekly will typically show wear within six to twelve months. An embroidered logo, done properly with the right thread tension and stitch density, should outlast the garment itself.
Embroidery also photographs better. The dimensional quality of a raised embroidered logo catches light differently from a flat print, which matters when your team is representing the business at events, client visits, or trade shows.
What determines the quality of embroidered hoodies
The base garment matters as much as the embroidery itself. A premium embroidered logo on a thin, poorly constructed hoodie still looks cheap. The weight of the fabric, the quality of the zip (if applicable), and the consistency of the cut across sizes all affect how the finished product looks and how long it lasts.
Beyond the garment, there are three things that determine embroidery quality:
Digitisation. Before any embroidery can be produced, your logo has to be converted into a stitch file — a process called digitisation. Poorly digitised files produce loose stitches, thread breaks, and logos that don't hold their shape. Good digitisation accounts for the fabric type and logo complexity.
Thread quality. Cheap polyester threads fade and lose their sheen quickly. Colourfast threads designed for industrial washing hold their colour through hundreds of cycles.
Stitch density. Too loose and the logo looks thin and amateurish. Too dense and the fabric puckers. Getting this right requires experience with the specific garment being embroidered.
How the process works at Candish Sports
We manufacture embroidered hoodies from scratch in our factory in Sialkot, Pakistan — the same factory where we have a co-ownership stake and have been producing garments for UK businesses for over 28 years. Every order goes through the same process:
You send us your logo, your colour requirements, and your size run. We send back a digital design proof within 24 hours showing exactly how your logo will look — placement, thread colours, sizing. Nothing goes into production until you approve that proof in writing.
Once approved, we manufacture your order and dispatch on the committed delivery date we gave you at quote stage. Our minimum order quantity is 20 units, which covers most small teams and growing businesses without requiring you to hold excess stock.
Placement options worth knowing about
Left chest is the standard for corporate branded clothing — subtle, professional, works in any context. Full back embroidery creates more impact for outdoor or event settings. Sleeve embroidery has become more common for teams that want something less conventional. We can also accommodate employee names or department identifiers if you need to differentiate within the same order.
Trade accounts and reorders
For businesses that order regularly, a free trade account gives you stored artwork files, locked pricing on your agreed styles, and the ability to reorder quickly without starting from scratch. Reorders typically have shorter lead times because your digitised embroidery file and spec are already on file.
30-day payment terms are available for qualifying businesses, which makes it easier to budget for seasonal orders or team expansions.
If you're ready to get a price for embroidered hoodies for your team, submit a quote request and we'll come back within 24 hours with pricing and a design proof. Alternatively, call us free on 0800 056 7929 — our Cambridge team answers during business hours.
